In most cases, there are two eventual places where coffee grinds find their true calling: in a mechanism that dispenses coffee (usually massaged by a coffee tamper), or in the trash once the coffee is made.

So to have coffee implemented (and used effectively!) in a skincare line would be preposterous in theory. But the skincare company Frank Body has proudly touted freshly roasted ground coffee as their signature ingredient.

It’s the ingredient that dictates their ethos as a company; according to their website, their coffee skincare contains, “No parabens, PEGS, or phthalates. No sulphates or silicones. No mineral oil, no glycols, no DEA or TEA”. Which is to say: simple, natural ingredients such as coffee, cinnamon, coconut oil and more.

The coffee grounds act as an exfoliator, scrubbing away the dead skin cells that accumulate on your body. Frank Body drops more knowledge: did you know that coffee contains the same amount of pH as the human skin? That means no oily residue that can occur when using other skincare products. Frank Body ain’t about that.

Speaking of products: the Frank Body lineup includes face + body scrubs, body creams, face moisturizers, and even lip balm. So if you were trying to find a way to find an alternative to normal skincare, Frank Body has got you covered.
