We are proud to share the 3rd UNDIVIDED women’s campaign – an awareness and advocacy piece for Good To Be Good Foundation. Photographed by the incredible Tara Noelle, UNDIVIDED is a modern editorial that celebrates and promotes the unity of women from varied races, ages, point of views, trajectories, and walks of life. Our campaigns are created with an all-female team – from the clothing brands to the production team – who share the common values of unity, honest inclusion, and total representation. We believe that when we ardently empower one another, without ostracism, we contribute to the health and productivity of families, societies and countries, creating a ripple effect that benefits everybody.
Inequality still exists for millions of women and girls around the world. While we’ve achieved progress, many women continue to face discrimination and violence – key drivers of poverty, lack of opportunities, unrest and conflict. Women form the majority of those living in poverty. 1 in 3 women will experience abuse/violence in their lifetime. Women and girls account for 80% of those trafficked detected globally. An estimated 130 million girls are out of school due to roadblocks like child marriage, damaging social norms and lack of access to resources and healthcare. Women are underrepresented in parliaments and high ranks of business. Work wage disparities are steady across all regions and sectors with the average woman making 24 percent less than a man. These are some of the substantial ways that extend the existing structures of gender inequality. As economic, political and social imbalances persist – global issues deepen.
Gender inequality affects everyone, so fortifying our shared feminism is vital to advance humanity, achieve peaceful societies and unbolt full human potential. Because women’s rights are fundamental human rights. The fight to equality is one that belongs to ALL (women of colour, men, LGBTQIAPK, white women, white men at all levels, everyone etc) of us and ours to defend while we’re here. What we do every day, regardless of how seemingly small the act, matters. Elevate your voice by spreading awareness and by breaking down social barriers. Support one another in workplaces, friendships, and community groups. Break systems of silence by asking questions and having uncomfortable discussions with the moral integrity to shift perspectives. Get involved in local events and conversations rooted in women’s empowerment efforts such as The Canadian Women’s Foundation or Women’s Habitat. Help educate the next generation – mentor, create enabling environments at home, or by radical encouragement. Assist/donate to female-focused charities. Lastly, cultivate complete empathy and courage.
The power and love you put into the service of others are that which is lasting.
