With summer around the corner, skincare should be shooting to the top of people’s priority lists, assuming it wasn’t already up there. However, the traditional brands we find in our local Target might not work out for everybody. Companies like Kiehl’s and Lancôme are targeting the demographic of people who are fed up with the Clean & Clears of the world and want to take how they treat their skin more seriously. Recently, a brand new approach to skincare has potentially revolutionized how products keep our skin looking healthier and brighter.

TULA is the premier company for a new wave of products that are taking a road never before travelled in skincare: probiotics. The brand, whose name means “balance” in Sanskrit, seeks to help women feel “more balanced, beautiful, and confident through [their] products and [their] community.” TULA is the work of Dr. Roshini Raj, a certified gastroenterologist, professor, and physician with degrees from the New York University School of Medicine and Harvard. Their line of products with hand lotions, face masks, serums, and creams is carefully combined with probiotics through a patented technology using ingredients such as AHAs, antioxidants, and retinols.

With her expertise in probiotics and how they benefit our diets, she saw the need for women to “achieve balance in life” and sought to do this by applying the health benefits of probiotic ingredients and technology into her skincare routine. It’s not just women who can benefit from using probiotics but men can benefit from taking a daily probiotic as well.
With this probiotic assistance, TULA’s products are able to do four things:

  • Restore a natural balance by strengthening the microbiome, one of the defense layers of human skin that is filled with good (and bad) bacteria among other things.
  • Boost the health of your skin, and specifically reducing redness and skin irritation.
  • Reduce inflammation and soothe the skin, just as probiotics are able to calm the stomach.
  • Prevent and fight signs of skin aging by defending against age-accelerating stressors and reverse the dreaded signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles.

Thanks to our friends at TULA, we were blessed with their Hydrating Day & Night Cream, the Exfoliating Treatment Mask, and Hand & Nail Therapy cream. After incorporating it into our daily skincare routine, we noticed, and felt, the results immediately. The hand & nail therapy feels smooth and melts seamlessly into the skin. Their 18% Shea butter formula absorbs quickly and holds very well against the wear and tear skin suffers on the daily. The day & night cream feels a bit heavy but it makes good on its deep hydration promise with a nice soothing feel. Only a tiny amount is needed to deliver the full package, so people do not have to fret about covering their entire face in an oily cream. The real winner though is the exfoliating treatment mask. It applies very easily with no sticky or oily texture and dries nicely. It exfoliates very gently and leaves the skin feeling soft, a level unmatched by almost any other product we’ve tried. That new pair of shoes or that shirt that fit just right couldn’t match the feeling of clean one feels after TULA’s exfoliating mask.

The next time you want to drop a few bills on your closet, you might want to reconsider and instead, invest in your skin. Skincare is a complex issue that requires a lot of knowledge and care to address it carefully and thoroughly but TULA makes it easy for you. Thankfully, it doesn’t take a probiotic expert to fully understand and bask in the results of their products. An investment in TULA products is a careful and worthwhile investment for one’s skin.
