NION, pronounced “neon,” is about living life in color with creativity as your driving force. Creativity, and choosing to create with intention every moment of your life, not only keeps you young, but it keeps you alive. I believe that while we are not all “artists” per se, we all have the ability to create.
Creating is making something from nothing. That is different for each person, but we here at NIONlife believe that creativity is the primary source of your soul’s spark. You could be a photographer, author, artist, speaker, entrepreneur, craftsman, designer, anyone or anything. Hell, you could even have a regular 9 to 5 job.
You’re either creating or you’re consuming.
When you are creating, you’re living in the flow of soul sovereignty and spending time in the present moment. When you’re in the present moment, you let go of past regrets and future worry. In turn, you are creating your own future.
When we are in the present moment, beautiful things happen. Your life becomes a colorful experience. It becomes electric. It becomes NION.
NIONlife is a lifestyle around this idea that is distilled from the principles that I live my life by. It’s based on creating an optimized, full life around these pillars: Creativity, Health and Wellness, Personal Growth, Relationships, Philanthropy, and Money and Business. I believe that if we are working towards becoming better in these categories, we can live a vibrant, fulfilled life.
This lifestyle was derived through my podcast, NIONradio, from interviewing over 100 humans at the top of their game, in their field, across the pillars. I’ve always been driven by learning from these types of people and have found tremendous inspiration in it. I love curating and interviewing people with a mission to make the world a better place.

My mission and passion in this world is to elevate creativity in everyone through my own creative endeavors. I want to create art that inspires and empowers people to live their highest selves. You don’t have to be an “artist” to be creative. Creating is a choice. Every moment of your life you have the power to choose to create or sit around and watch life slide past you. I want to empower people to create their lives by creating every small moment.
Age is but a number. I think we have physical age and spiritual age. Physical age is determined by time and space, the number of calendar years you’ve been around on this earth. Spiritual age is your soul’s age which transcends time and space.
What is your perspective on “aging”?
I believe that aging in your physical body is determined by the amount of stress you let your body take on. The more stress that accumulates from just doing life can either be stored in your body or be released through various modalities. Releasing that stress keeps our bodies younger. Aging, in the soul’s sense, is beautiful. We gain more and more wisdom, depth, and beauty from our life’s experience if we take on that perspective, and that is a beautiful thing.
What three healthy habits have you practiced to keep your body, mind, and soul young and vibrant?
My top three modalities to stay young and vibrant are the following:
Creativity. By choosing to create and stay creative in every moment, we keep the brain active. We stay in flow. When we are in flow, we are living in the present. When we are living in the present, we transcend suffering because suffering comes from regretting the past or worrying about the future. It’s easy to let our thoughts get wrapped up in a rabbit hole of worry and self hatred that comes with living in the past or future. Creativity taps us into the here and now.
Meditation. Also one of the biggest practices that’s helped me stay young and vibrant. More specifically Vedic, a mantra-based meditation that specifically helps me take out the “mind trash” aka those negative thoughts that, if you’re not careful, will lead you into your own prison. This type of meditation de-stresses your nervous system and getting rid of that stress from your body keeps you young. It’s a twice daily 20-minute practice and very different than what most people consider meditation to be. Much easier in my opinion.
Staying Active. I’ve gone through dark times in my own life over the last couple years and exercising on a regular basis has helped me keep my body fit. When your body is fit, you feel better. I’m not a gym rat. In fact, I’ve never loved working out, but the effect that staying active has on my body has been tremendous, so I created a habit out of it. Now I feel off if I don’t do it. My perspective is to integrate it and make it easy to fit into my life. I do strength training in my apartment as well as cycling to my meetings in New York City. Integrating physical activity into your daily life makes it much easier.
How does your message or methodology help people age gracefully?
I believe that activating your creativity on a moment-to-moment basis keeps your mind active. When your mind is constantly active and learning, you keep your mind young and fresh. It keeps your mind from atrophy. The creative process is problem-solving, it’s learning, adapting, and innovating. That process in and of itself keeps you young. You’re either creating or consuming.
How can one “stay young” while getting older?
I think creating a young and healthy perspective on life keeps your soul young while your body ages. Keeping your soul young while you mature and gain wisdom is a beautiful thing. That takes crafting the lens to see things this way. You can choose to see life as being a victim to it, or you can take responsibility, accept what is, let things go, and choose to create something new. Choose to create what it is that you want in life. Choose to create every small moment, and that to me is what helps you stay young.
How do you feel your age relates to you in your community?
Despite the fact that I’m 40 and I look 25—probably because of my Asian genes—but also I’ve really lived life in a way to eliminate as much stress in my body as possible. It’s created a perspective that I align with a lot of people younger than me. It’s allowed me to bring the wisdom I’ve learned over the years through my experience to a younger audience. To be honest though, in the communities I run in, I never really even think of age. It’s never really much of a thought. My community shares life perspectives as a commonality.
What advice would you give to someone as they grow older?
My advice is to gain wisdom by learning as much as you can. Keep the perspective of always growing while finding modalities to get rid of as much stress in your body as possible. Live in high vibrational emotions like gratitude, love, joy, and freedom as those heal your body and keep you young. Learn to not let low vibrational emotions like anger, fear, judgment, etc. stay in your body as those release toxic chemicals that deteriorate your body and make you sick. That in and of itself is a daily practice that keeps you young.
